Chicago Bulls: Who do they really want to sign for next two offseasons?
By Abe Rotbart
No. 4 Brandon Ingram
One would find it hard to believe that the Bulls may shop around Lauri Markkanen. This season the Bulls are hoping to see his numbers improve from 18.7 points and 9 rebounds per game . While those numbers are very respectable, Markkanen is the player management is hoping to build around.
After this season, they will have to decide whether his trade value can help them acquire a different player with that potential. If the Bulls were to decide to pull the trigger on Markkanen while his trade value is still high, a possible replacement for him would be Brandon Ingram.
The New Orleans Pelicans acquired Ingram in the trade for Anthony Davis. Unfortunately for Ingram, they also drafted Zion Williamson. Williamson is the most hyped up player to come into the NBA since LeBron James. After playing out his one season in The Big Easy, Ingram may want a change of scenery.
An obvious landing spot is Chicago. Ingram, who averaged 18.3 points a game last year, would fit in perfectly with fellow Duke Blue Devil in Carter Jr. After a couple messy years with the LA Lakers and the circus which is sure to follow Zion Williamson, Ingram would slide into the Bulls power forward position while still young and loaded with potential.
