Former Chicago Bulls at the FIBA World Cup

There’s 53 total active NBA players competing in the FIBA World Cup this year. About a dozen more are names that a handful of NBA fans might remember from yesteryear as players that used to be in the league. Fans in the Windy City will have to dig deep to find many fond memories of the two former players competing here.

But there are only two former Chicago Bulls players competing in the FIBA World Cup to go along with the two that are currently with the team. There’s not a whole lot of star power among current and former Bulls in this tourney.

The first and likely the most recognized former Bulls players among the fans is the former second round NBA Draft pick for this team and German forward Paul Zipser. As a member of the Bulls for just 98 games, Zipser will still be one of the more notable players on the German team. He was picked up with the 49th pick in the 2016 NBA Draft.

The other former Bulls player in the FIBA World Cup is a guard with a lot more longevity than Zipser. Long-time San Antonio Spurs guard and sharpshooter Marco Belinelli is playing for a good Italian team in the FIBA World Cup. He is 33-years-old and played in 72 games with the Bulls in one season.
