The 2019 FIBA World Cup isn’t lined with that many Chicago Bulls current players, but there are a few names worth noting at the outset of pool play.

The seemingly lengthy basketball hiatus finally came to an end for fans, players, and the media on Aug. 31 with the 2019 FIBA World Cup tipping off. Even a couple of Chicago Bulls players will be participating in the festivities in China in the coming weeks. There will be legitimate reasoning for Bulls fans to follow the course of events in this year’s FIBA World Cup.

Before we get to the current Bulls that are playing in the World Cup, there are names worth mentioning that just missed the cut for their respective counties. The most notable of those names among current Bulls players is the newly signed veteran forward Thaddeus Young. In a somewhat surprising cut from the United State roster last month, Young will be able to turn his full focus and attention to preparing for the upcoming regular season.

Shooting guard Zach LaVine was also a notable omission from the USA roster given the level of talent on hand. Since nearly every one of the first choices for NBA stars on the USA team dropped out, Young and LaVine could’ve contributed to the success of this team in China.

What takes away from this ranking is the fact that the Bulls only have two players representing them at the FIBA World Cup. Neither plays for a country in North America either. But, we can take a look into the current and former relevant Bulls playing in China to round out the summer months ahead of the NBA preseason.

Here’s a look into the definitive ranking of every current Chicago Bulls player competing in the 2019 FIBA World Cup.
