A mostly dry free agent market in the later stages of the summer for the Chicago Bulls could still have a handful of gems left to add depth in key spots.
The thick of the news cycle for free agency this summer is well past us. But the Chicago Bulls made good moves in free agency that shouldn’t be overlooked by the fan base. John Paxson and Gar Forman pulled off a couple common sense moves that will continue to grow this young core for success in the future.
Three free agent signings stick out as major value additions to this young Bulls roster. Those three free agent signings for the Bulls include former New York Knicks center Luke Kornet, Indiana Pacers forward Thaddeus Young, and Washington Wizards guard Tomas Satoransky. The Bulls also made the move to re-sign the underrated guard duo that is Ryan Arcidiacono and Shaquille Harrison.
However, there’s still lingering positional needs for Chicago Bulls head coach Jim Boylen that should be addressed before Training Camp and the preseason get underway. Of those, potentially dishing out point guard Kris Dunn and upgrading the depth and talent at the wing stick out as the two tasks to prioritize for the front office.
It appears that management is still shopping Dunn as the summer moves along. But nothing in terms of a Dunn trade package caught any traction yet. With roughly 40 percent of the players in the NBA changing teams this summer or getting new contracts, formulating a trade for Dunn could be challenging at this point.
Here’s a look into three long shot free agent options remaining for the Chicago Bulls that are worth exploring for the remainder of the offseason.
