Chicago Bulls Free Agency: 4 biggest 2019 offseason whiffs
A great under-the-radar haul of free agents for the Chicago Bulls during the summer did have a handful of misses that should be looked over.
The Chicago Bulls had an overall good cycle of free agency this summer. John Paxson and Gar Forman made consistently good moves for the first time in a long time. But with every passing cycle of free agency in the NBA comes missed opportunities to upgrade rosters for all 30 teams in the league.
However, GarPax usually catches a ton of criticism for their efforts in free agency. So getting a solid haul for this summer should be nothing to complain about for this Chicago Bulls fan base. The Bulls landed three free agents to upgrade the roster through and through and brought two rotational players back in the mix.
The three players that the Bulls signed this summer from other teams includes sizable guard Tomas Satoransky, center Luke Kornet, and versatile forward Thaddeus Young. What’s solid about this haul of three players for the Bulls is the fact that they nabbed underrated pieces from competing Eastern Conference teams. Kornet is coming from the New York Knicks, Young from the Indiana Pacers, and Satoransky from the Washington Wizards.
It seems like the Bulls absolutely robbed the Wizards on two occasions since this past trade deadline. GarPax nabbed small forward Otto Porter Jr. at the trade deadline from the Wizards and got Satoransky on an absolute bargain deal from a sign-and-trade.
Moreover, the two players that the Bulls kept around are the guard combination of Ryan Arcidiacono and Shaquille Harrison. Those two could be solid pieces for head coach Jim Boylen coming off the bench.
Yet, with all that in mind, what are the four biggest misses that the Chicago Bulls had in free agency earlier this summer?
