7. John Collins, Atlanta Hawks
John Collins was a 2019 Slam Dunk contestant is a serious threat above the rim and was the hardest player to place on this list. With Trae Young throwing him lobs and running the show, Collins will be a 20-point and 10 rebounds per game player for years to come. His athleticism to finish around the rim is ferocious and his range above the rim is unparallel even in today’s game.
His athletic ability around the rim reminds to a young DeAndre Jordan with a far more polished jumper and offensive game in general. Collins second season with the Hawks featured career-highs in points (19.5), rebounds (9.8), assists (2.0), minutes (30.0), and free-throw percentage (76.3).
With all his recent success this position in the top-10 could be hyped but 2019 has been a good year for Collins and I expect it to continue after the young Hawks drafted Jaxson Hayes (8th) and Cam Reddish (10th). Atlanta’s rebuild is looking bright and maybe it’s alright ride the hype.
