10. Derrick Jones Jr., Miami Heat
Derrick Jones Jr. claimed to have a 48-inch vertical entering the NBA and after the past two seasons, I don’t think anyone is debating that. Of course, we’ve seen the alley-oop where his head was above the rim and he spiked the ball in the hoop like a volleyball, but he’s been doing that for years.
I’ll admit, he has more hype than highlights as his minutes since he’s a bench player. This past he averaged a career-high 19.2 minutes, points (7.0), rebounds (4.0) and started 14 of 60 games for the Heat. Jones Jr. came onto the scene when he was named a participant in the 2017 Dunk Contest. He finished second behind Glenn Robinson III in the 2017 Dunk Contest and also beat out DeAndre Jordan and Aaron Gordon.
With the Heat changing up the roster, White should see more minutes which will hopefully lead to more dunks this season.
