Honorable Mentions:
Paul George, Los Angeles Clippers
PG13 is capable of pulling off nearly any dunk and on a fastbreak, he’s one of the best to watch in the open court and lift off. Leaving him off the top 10 was not easy, but with the plethora of young talent that’s hit the NBA over the past few seasons, it’s hard to overlook some of the highlight-reel dunks. If this holds any value, PG13 is the most honorable of honorable mentions.
Dennis Smith Jr., New York Knicks
Smith Jr. joined the Knicks and showed he’s still the same old DSJ dunking on opponents and rarely seeing a challenger at the rim insight. He did set the NBA record at the 2017 NBA Combine with a 48-inch vertical leap so obviously, it’s best for opponents to stay grounded. Smith is a two-time NBA Dunk Contest participant in 2018 and 2019 finishing second this past year losing to Hamidou Diallo.
Victor Oladipo, Indiana Pacers
Oladipo went down with a ruptured quad tendon in the right knee in January that required him to miss the rest of the 2018-19 season and playoffs. Oladipo was a 2018 NBA Slam Dunk participant finishing last in 2018 but remains one of the most athletic guards in the game today.
He can do just about any dunk, but his best is his fastbreak 360, no one is as smooth as Vic when it comes to a steal and 360 finish. Next season the Pacers will happily welcome him back as the main scoring option.
