Now with 16 players on the roster, Chicago Bulls have some tough decisions lying ahead about who is worth keeping around for the long haul.

The clock is ticking for the Chicago Bulls to make a decision. As much as we’ve come to know and love the Windy City’s very own, there is now a limited number of roster spots to hand out.

Following the decision to re-sign Shaq Harrison, the Bulls officially have 16 players under contract. Unfortunately, teams are only allowed to enter the season with 15 players on the roster. This means one unfortunate soul is on the chopping block, either through trade or waivers.

Fortunately, it shouldn’t be too difficult to find a little dead weight to drop off into the deep end. Coming off the heels of the fourth-worst record in the NBA last year at 22-60, this team is hardly full of superstars. Additionally, Chicago was home to the league’s worst bench in 2018-19. Replacing the filler and upgrading the bench has been a clear priority this summer.

Without many albatross contracts on the payroll, it shouldn’t be too difficult to find a potential trade partner for some of Chicago’s young assets. Alternatively, the Bulls could waive an underperforming player on an expiring deal to make room for more talented players.

Let’s take a look at the candidates most likely to be wearing a different uniform by the time the NBA preseason kicks off in October.
