Chicago Bulls: Predicting players production this season, Pt. 1
So let’s start of this list with Chandler Hutchison.
Although he is a young player that many fans would like to see on the court a lot, at the moment I don’t think he’ll get a lot of minutes. Especially with how he played in the Summer League, I still believe he needs at least another year of development to be a solid rotational piece for the Bulls.
Whether it’s bouncing back and forth from the roster to the G-league, I don’t think he’ll have a huge impact on the team this season.
That being said, he has shown a physical growth as well as flashes of what he could be for the Bulls.
Hutchison looks a lot buffer than he was last year, putting on muscles necessary to guard the bigger forwards in the league, without losing any of his athleticism. Although he shot pretty terrible in the Summer league, he was aggressive and was handling the ball more often on fast breaks as well as in the half court settings.
That being said, his shot is no where close to where it needs to be to justify giving him minutes for the Bulls right now. He needs to shoot more efficiently while showing a willingness to actually shoot the ball to justify playing time.
Maybe that takes until the All star break to get that confidence or maybe even the whole year. It shouldn’t matter to Bulls fans though. We already have 2 wings that are currently better than Hutchison, so there shouldn’t be any rush to play him if he’s not ready to.
With a more complete roster this year, don’t be discouraged if Hutchison averages less statistically, just be excited for his jump in the 2020-2021 season.
My Prediction for Hutchison’ Statline: 4.8 points , 2.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists on 42% shooting and 29% shooting from 3 in 9 to 14 minutes a game (48 games played).
