Plans for the Chicago Bulls to land a premier free agent as part of the 2021 class that features oh so many superstars should start with players that should have plenty of prime years of production left. This is where the list starts at with the former Oklahoma City Thunder and Indiana Pacers forward Paul George.
Thunder general manager Sam Presti shipped George out to the Los Angeles Clippers to link up with yet another superstar forward for a king’s ransom in return. George has two years left on his current contract before a player option will come up for him during the summer in 2021. If he picks it up, he’ll make around $38 million in the final year.
Entering the 2021 offseason, the Bulls would be able to target PG for at least a two or three year deal. He’ll be 31-years-old at the time. The only question mark would be the shoulder injuries that continued to plague him with the Thunder last season. If those are all squared away, he should be a prize target for the Bulls.
Imagining the trio that the Bulls could have with power forward Lauri Markkanen and center Wendell Carter Jr. along with PG should make fan’s mouths water. By then, he could also be playing alongside other rising stars with the Bulls with point guard Coby White and shooting guard Zach LaVine.
