28. Phoenix Suns

The only team that consistently finds ways to challenge the Knicks for the throne of incompetence is the Phoenix Suns. They inexplicably traded down in the 2019 NBA Draft, missing out on a potential franchise point guard in Coby White (as a Bulls fan, I’d like to thank the Suns for doing this). Then, they drafted Cam Johnson (who I like) approximately 10 picks too early.

It’s not that Johnson will be a bad player, but they could’ve drafted someone with a lot more upside at pick No. 11.

The good news for Suns fans is they have a rising star in Devin Booker, a potential franchise center in Deandre Ayton and a high-floor rookie point guard in Ty Jerome (this was their one good decision in the 2019 NBA Draft).

Will the Suns win more than 20 games in the 2019-2020 season? I wouldn’t bet on it. They’ll need huge leaps from Booker and Ayton to even sniff the 20-win mark. Plus, they’re in the loaded Western Conference where it’s nearly impossible to steal wins.
