29. New York Knicks

Congratulations to the New York Knicks for continuing their run as arguably the most incompetent team in the NBA! That’s a big achievement.

The Knicks whiffed in free agency this summer. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving chose the other team located in New York. Kemba went to Boston. Jimmy Butler went to Miami. The list goes on and on. Hey, at least they have four slightly-above-average power forwards on their new and not improved roster, though!

I’m not sure where the minutes for Bobby Portis and Taj Gibson are going to come from. Julius Randle and Marcus Morris are both better players than Portis and Gibson. But I guess they had to spend the money on somebody, right? Might as well build up that power forward depth!

In all seriousness, the Knicks are set up to be one of the worst teams in the NBA again in the 2019-2020 season. The good news for Knicks fans is they do have some intriguing young guys on the roster. Allonzo Trier is the real deal. Kevin Knox looks like he’s ready to make a big leap. Even R.J. Barrett, despite an abysmal 2019 NBA Summer League run, has star potential.

The Knicks will be bad next year, but maybe that’s okay. Let the young guys run the show and learn from their mistakes.
