Chicago Bulls: NBA power rankings for all 30 teams
By Luke Askew
10. Houston Rockets
The Houston Rockets made one of the weirder moves of the summer when they traded Chris Paul and picks to Oklahoma City for Russell Westbrook.
Who knows how this will play out? James Harden and Westbrook are one of the weirder tandems in the NBA, but they’re still undeniably talented. Both Westbrook and Harden are electric with the ball in their hands, but they’re arguably the two worst off-ball players in the league.
One thing that having both Westbrook and Harden allows the Rockets to do is stagger their minutes and almost always have one of those two on the court. That means that either Russ or Harden (likely Russ) will frequently be going against the second units of other teams. That’s an absurd concept.
The Rockets will be a lot of fun in the 2019-2020 season, but will they make a deep playoff run? Only time will tell. As of right now, though, they’re one of the most talented teams in the league.
