In this trade deal between the Grizzlies and the Chicago Bulls, I take a big turn in the focus of the player exchange. The Bulls would also be sending a future second round pick to the Grizzlies in order to land two solid young players to sure up the rotation.

Former Duke Blue Devils All-ACC shooting guard Grayson Allen gets his shot to help space the floor in the Bulls backcourt rotation. Along with Allen comes former Cal Golden Bears big man Ivan Rabb, who showed out for the Grizzlies in Summer League thus far. Allen and Rabb are also on cheap contract deals that are very movable for the next year or so.

The Bulls would need to get the version of Allen that shot 38 percent from three-point range during his four-year career at Duke. His rookie season in the NBA, with the Utah Jazz last year, saw him barely shoot over 32 percent from beyond the arc. Meanwhile Rabb was very efficient when given the opportunity, registering a career player efficiency rating above 16.

If this means that the Bulls are able to unload the inefficient volume shooter that is former LSU Tigers shooting guard Antonio Blakeney, this deal becomes even better. Dunn is a valuable piece that could still work out in the Grizzlies scheme. The Bulls take a chance on two low-risk young players that could pan out well in this rotation under head coach Jim Boylen.
