3. Coby White is not ready to start

There were bright and dismal spots from what the Chicago Bulls saw from Coby White in this round of Summer League. Averaging 5.6 rebounds per game and 4.8 assists is good, but 3.8 turnovers per game and shooting just 10 percent from three-point range on 6.0 attempts per game is not.

Registering an offensive rating just above 80 really sums it all up for White and how he played in all five games for the Bulls in Vegas. Too many air balls from beyond the arc and weird turnovers when it mattered in-game are tough pills to swallow for White as he tries to build up his confidence for his rookie season.

The handles and step-back shooting ability could be a special part of White’s skill set and offensive arsenal a few years down the line. For now, his shot selection and decision making when the ball’s in his hands need to improve an awful lot. Chicago Bulls head coach Jim Boylen has a lot of work to do with White this coming season and in Training Camp.

However, White is a big part of the Bulls future and could still develop into a quality starting point guard in due time. He flashed a lot of promise with what made him special during his one season under head coach Roy Williams in Chapel Hill.

Although, White could definitely still use a season learning under former Washington Wizards point guard Tomas Satoransky in the Windy City.
