4. Tough roster decisions for Justin Simon and Adam Mokoka

With 15 roster spots now occupied for the Chicago Bulls at the conclusion of Summer League, the competition for the players that were signed as undrafted free agents gets interesting. If the Bulls are going to sign any of their Summer League roster players to a two-way contract or with the Windy City Bulls in the G-League, it might come down to two players that can play wing or shooting guard.

Former St. John’s guard Justin Simon had himself an up and down performance in Summer League. He averaged 6.8 points per game, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.4 steals. The assist numbers for Simon were nearly nonexistent, but he did rack up around 0.6 blocks per game.

The defensive prowess of Simon was the best part about what he displayed in these five games. The Bulls would have to be buying into the player efficiency rating that Simon posted (just over 16.0) and the defensive ability he showed with a 3.1 percent steal rate, 2.4 percent block rate, and also a nice 8.3 percent offensive rebounding rate.

On the other hand, French shooting guard/wing Adam Mokoka makes an even more intriguing argument for why he should at least be included with the Windy City Bulls. He improved his offensive game throughout these five games, shooting better than 33 percent from beyond the arc and flashed defensive ability that could hang in the NBA off the bench.
