2020 NBA Mock Draft: Post-free agency lottery picks
This loaded class of guards continues through the 2020 NBA Mock Draft with the five-star former Oak Hill Academy North Carolina Tar Heels commit Cole Anthony. The No. 4 ranked 2019 recruit in the nation and the top combo guard was a big signing for the Tar Heels.
In the 2019 NBA Draft, the Tar Heels and head coach Roy Williams sent out a highly touted point guard to the Bulls at seventh overall with Coby White. Is Anthony the next in line to become a top 10 pick from the UNC basketball program? It looks very likely with how much momentum he gained down the stretch of his senior season with Oak Hill.
At 6-foot-4 and 185 pounds, Anthony does need to put on size and strength before he makes the jump to the NBA. Every other piece of his game translates smoothly to the NBA with his creating ability and two-way potential. Where Anthony will really standout at the next level is his ability in transition. He’s very quick and vertical and has excellent vision as a floor general.
With how much the Phoenix Suns could use a point guard in next year’s draft, the fit between them and Anthony looks natural. Anthony would also be able to learn under the mentorship of a veteran point guard in Phoenix with the recent signing of Ricky Rubio.
