The top overall 2019 recruit in the nation that reclassified from the 2020 class wound up committing to the Georgia Bulldogs in a pretty surprising move. Five-star Georgia shooting guard signee Anthony Edwards could take his team to the NCAA Tournament just by himself next season. But this move also feels somewhat like what Ben Simmons did by committing to the LSU Tigers.

The 6-foot-5 shooting guard has a very well-rounded skill set for his age and experience and good length for his height. The excellent leaping ability for Edwards will help him translate his offensive arsenal to the NBA, especially with the way he would be playing and fitting in with the offense of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

A final year of playing AAU basketball for Edwards saw him shoot 45 percent from three-point range during the Summer of 2018. His outside shooting ability combined with how quick and strong he is while driving the lane will make him a special guard when he takes his talents to the NBA.

In this 2020 NBA Mock Draft, I have the Cavaliers landing Edwards with the second overall pick to play alongside what should be either Darius Garland or Collin Sexton in the backcourt. It seems like only one guard will stick in the Cavaliers backcourt since Garland and Sexton are a very weird starting guard duo.
