Only time will tell if this 2020 NBA Mock Draft pans out with the Boston Celtics trying to take a big man next year. The Celtics are still stockpiled with draft assets from big time trades in the last five years, but it seems like this franchise took a step back in terms of talent and depth this summer.

If the Celtics do look to drafting a big man, or just a pure stretch-four, in the 2020 NBA Draft, Danny Ainge should seek out the USC Trojans former five-star recruit Isaiah Mobley. While Mobley likely won’t become a lights out shooter from range at any point of his basketball career, he is capable of spacing the floor when need be.

For the second straight recruiting cycle, a very talented and highly touted five-star forward picked USC. Despite the USC basketball program not carrying much tradition or NCAA Tournament success, Mobley and the Cavaliers 2019 first round pick Kevin Porter Jr. both choose to take their talents there.

Of all the middle-first round projected picks in the 2020 NBA Draft, Mobley might be the steadiest given his skill set and the maturity in his game coming into college. He just needs to continue working on his range and offensive efficiency to become a better facilitator when it’s all said and done.
