Lauri Markkanen = Marshall Eriksen
Like Marshall Eriksen, Lauri Markkanen is the environmentally conscious friend that everyone needs.
When Eriksen is not in the courtroom arguing a case, he’s trying to pursue his true dream of saving the planet.
When Markkanen is not on the court, he can be found promoting Neste and its environmental campaigns.

It’s clear that Markkanen and Eriksen are men of principle. Neither would appear to have interest in sacrificing their morals and values for money and power. For Markkanen and Eriksen, supporting the environmental cause is a huge deal.
Markkanen and Eriksen have some strikingly similar physical characteristics. Both are tall; both are blond; both are brown-eyed.
Markkanen and Eriksen both know at least two different languages. For Markkanen, it’s English and Finnish. For Eriksen, it’s English and Legal English.
If there’s one thing that Markkanen can learn from Eriksen, it’s to never forget where you come from.
In “How I Met Your Mother,” Eriksen grew up in Minnesota in a very close-knit family.
Markkanen grew up in Finland, and is the son of Pekka and Riikka Markkanen and brother of Miikka and Eero Markkanen.
In “How I Met Your Mother,” Eriksen was always known as a down-to-earth guy, even as he climbed the ranks to later become elected to the New York State Supreme Court.
The hope is that Markkanen will remain the humble star he is, even if and when he takes the next step in his career.
