Chicago Bulls: Intrigue-based Summer League player rankings
If only a team like the Montana State Bobcats got as much exposure as a power conference college basketball program. Then maybe the All-Big Sky honoree and lengthy 6-foot-5 guard Tyler Hall would be a projected second-round NBA Draft pick instead of going undrafted to the Chicago Bulls.
A career 40 percent shooter from beyond the arc at Montana State will always bring intrigue in his game to the Bulls. He registered more than 16.0 career win shares with the Cats and was around an 86 percent shooter from the free-throw line. His game fits well into the modern NBA which is a very exciting prospect for the Bulls.
Since the Bulls could always use more lengthy shooting guards and wings that, adding Hall to the Summer League roster makes a lot of sense. His defensive skill sets need to get much better during Summer League, though. Although, he does make good use of his large usage rate around 30 percent. A career turnover rate around 10 percent and a 19 percent assist rate looks really good.
The big question marks with Hall’s game lie with his defensive ability. While he registered an offensive box plus/minus last season of 4.6, he had a defensive box plus/minus of -3.5. He has to become a more well-rounded player with more effort on both ends of the floor for Boylen to consider him with the big league organization.
