3. Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers were one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference this past season. They won 51 games and were four bizarre bounces on a Kawhi Leonard fadeaway jumper from moving on to the Eastern Conference Finals (provided they would’ve won that game in overtime). Despite all of their success, their best players are far from finished products.

Ben Simmons is still only 22 years old (I have a better jumper than him, but that’s beside the point), and is a budding superstar. His teammate, Joel Embiid, is only 25 years old and is already one of the best big men in the league.

The on-the-court fit between Simmons and Embiid has been questioned, but I’m not sure I buy into the doubt surrounding those two. I think the problem is with the supporting cast.

If the Sixers can fill the rest of their roster with shooters, quality wings and reliable big men, the 76ers will be the team to beat in the East for years to come.
