The truly big steal thus far among the undrafted free agent signings it seems in the past two days is the former Arizona State Sun Devils shooting guard Luguentz Dort landing with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Dort will now get to learn under two solidified NBA stars in point guard Russell Westbrook and wing Paul George.

What the Thunder are getting in Dort is a guard that can score from almost anywhere on the floor, and has excellent length and athleticism. The three-point shooting ability of Dort has to improve, but he had just one year at Arizona State to prove himself in that regard. He’ll have time to develop that part of his game with the Thunder.

Where the Chicago Bulls could utilize Dort is behind White and rising star shooting guard Zach LaVine in what still promises to be a pretty thin backcourt rotation. The Bulls were really able to sure up the frontcourt rotation thus far by adding Gafford and having a plethora of options on the free agent market.

But the backcourt rotation will have a lot of uncertainty with the trade status of point guard Kris Dunn up in the air and the injury status of Denzel Valentine still relatively unknown. A low-risk, high-reward move like signing Dort to a two-way contract potentially would make a lot of sense for this Bulls team.
