2019 NBA Mock Draft: Draft day final mock post-Conley, Snell trades
Despite falling out of the top three in the lottery, Cleveland does pretty well in this draft by landing Jarrett Culver at five. Culver will become the final piece of a very solid, young backcourt featuring the Texas Tech standout and fellow former top-ten pick Collin Sexton.
Prospect Rank: 4
The rumor in the basketball world is that the Suns have not worked out Vanderbilt’s Darius Garland, who seems to be the consensus second-best point guard in this draft. It is very possible that Phoenix promised Coby White that they would select him with the 6th pick at the NBA Combine. James Jones seems to like the fact that he can play off-ball as a combo guard and allow Devin Booker to dominate the basketball.
Prospect Rank: 10
Bulls fans, rejoice. Darius Garland is much too talented of a player to fall to seven, but if no trades in the top six happen, this is the likely scenario. Garland has the potential to be a franchise point guard, drawing comparisons to Damian Lillard. Zach LaVine and Garland could be an atrocious defensive backcourt, but their elite scoring could be a deadly offset to this issue. Garland is more than certainly the Bulls’ top realistic target.
Prospect Rank: 5
Adding an elite talent in Cam Reddish to an extremely promising young core is a very enticing thought for the Hawks. With Taurean Prince out of the picture, Reddish would immediately slide into the starting lineup and try to resurrect his basketball career by proving he can live up to his All-NBA expectations out of high school.
Prospect Rank: 6
Nobody has any idea what the Wizards’ plan at this moment is. For all we know, Washington could blow it up tonight and commit to rebuilding the roster. Whether they decide to try to compete next season or go into rebuild mode, they should take the best player available in Sekou Doumbouya in hopes that he can turn into a star.
