What Sekou Doumbouya brings to the table

Sekou Doumbouya is one of the lengthier forwards that could either play at the three or the four. He appears to have good enough handles and facilitating ability to fill a point forward type role eventually in the NBA. At 6-foot-9 and 210 pounds, Doumbouya has the physical tools to thrive in a number of different lineup looks.

The real question pertaining to Doumbouya lies with his shooting ability and how quickly his offensive arsenal translates in the NBA. The lateral quickness for Doumbouya on defense could be another looming question mark. His defensive awareness will also need work, but that should be expected with an 18-year-old rookie.

Doumbouya does have star potential if his offensive skill set develops early in his career. He is the youngest player in this draft class, so he’s definitely not going to have the expectation of becoming an immediate impact player. The ceiling with him is immeasurable given the right fit. That could be with the Bulls, though.

Any time you have a prospect that comes along like Doumbouya, there is also going to be a large amount of risk that comes with drafting him. For the Bulls, a number of the top prospects they should be looking at come with a similar risk level. But the two-way potential that Doumbouya brings to the table could greatly benefit the Bulls.
