A few targets on this list for the Chicago Bulls are names that just shouldn’t creep as high as pick No. 7 in the first round of this draft. The former Kentucky Wildcats star power forward PJ Washington is a good example of that. The large number of turnovers he had compared to assists are also a concern.
Washington has late lottery pick or late-teens in the first round written all over him. He is good at a lot but isn’t excellent at much. He doesn’t have many traits that help him to stick out enough to fall in the top half of the first round of the draft, especially to the Bulls at seven.
It’s easy to get drawn away from the true traits of Washington that fit his draft profile when you look at his stat line from his sophomore campaign at Kentucky. If you look too close, then Bulls fans can get drawn by the three-point shooting percentage he had above 43 and a field goal percentage better than 53.
The fair spot for Washington to land should be around picks 14-20. He’s more of a rotational talent that he is projected to be a bona fide starter right away in the NBA. Washington could be a good depth player for a long time, but not likely a star. He would also slot behind a handful of decent wings and forwards with the Bulls.
