What needs to change

The Chicago Bulls clearly don’t have a good point guard situation at the moment. Rajon Rondo could also find himself amid better circumstances than he’s in now with a Lakers team that ranked in the Western Conference standings last season. The Lakers were possibly the NBA’s most disappointing team during the regular season.

We’re going to take a two pronged approach to this point. One is how the Bulls need to change the point guard situation and what adjustments Rondo could make too.

First off, the Bulls don’t look like they intend to bring back third-year point guard Kris Dunn as the starter next season. If he’s even around in the first place, he’s likely to be coming off the bench. Other solutions at point guard on the roster now are limited to Ryan Arcidiacono, Shaquille Harrison, and Walt Lemon Jr.

On the Rondo side of the things, there are two big factors that would have to fall in place for him to land in the Windy City this free agent cycle. First off, the Lakers would have to be fine with letting him walk. Second, the Bulls front office and coaching staff would have to make a bigger commitment to his success and usage in the lineup than last time he was here.
