The Indiana Pacers need a point guard more than any other position, and they should feel lucky to have Nickeil Alexander-Walker fall to them. As a combo guard, his ability to play both positions allows Indiana to be flexible in using him on the bench or as a starter if they strike out on points in free agency and trades.
Gregg Popovich and Grant Williams seem like a match made in heaven. A fundamentally-sound, non-flashy player, Williams really has no weaknesses in his game. As the Spurs look to get back to the top of the West, Williams can contribute now while also serving as a potential heir to the aging LaMarcus Aldridge.
With the second of three first rounders for Boston, Danny Ainge once again swings for the fences by taking Kevin Porter. Porter had an awful start to his lone season at USC but rebounded nicely, although he still will not live up to his top-ten preseason hype. Nonetheless, the Celtics get phenomenal value for Porter at 20.
