7. Tyler Ulis

Tyler Ulis was claimed off waivers by the Bulls last fall after having signed a 1-year, $1.5 million contract with the Golden State Warriors. With the Bulls, Ulis was offered the opportunity to sign a two-way contract, which enabled him to get playing time in both the G League and the NBA.

Ulis, a Chicago Heights native and a former University of Kentucky Wildcat, was brought in during the 2018-2019 season to give another Chicago-area native the opportunity to play for the Bulls. Other notable Chicago-area athletes known to have played for the Bulls are Dwyane Wade, Derrick Rose and Jabari Parker.

During the regular season, Ulis appeared in one game with the Bulls. By December of 2018, Ulis was no longer part of the team. Ulis has been busy recovering from injury, since being waived by the Bulls to make room on the roster for shooting guard Brandon Sampson.

At 5 feet and 10 inches, Ulis has faced adversity trying to establish himself in the league. Ulis’s career started with the Phoenix Suns, but things didn’t pan out according to plan after two seasons.

Among the highlights of Ulis’s career statistics are 7.5 points, 4 assists and 1.7 rebounds per game.

It remains unclear what the market is for Ulis heading into free agency this summer.
