11. Michael Carter-Williams

Michael Carter-Williams is unique in that he’s had two stints with the Bulls, one during the 2016-2017 season, another during the 2018-2019 season.

Carter Williams’ first stint in the Windy City ended after leaving in free agency to play for the Charlotte Hornets. The Bulls at the time declined to extend a $4.35 million qualifying offer.

As a member of the Bulls, Carter-Williams impressed with his defensive prowess. The Bulls organization liked the intensity he provided at the time, in part, because the team’s defense had its shortcomings. Carter-Williams would gain a bit of playing time based on his effort, even as his offensive struggles continued to present a risk.

The Bulls would not keep the former Rookie of the Year around for long. During free agency in the summer of 2017, Carter-Williams agreed to a deal with the Hornets to play backup point guard.

Playing behind Kemba Walker did not last long, either. At the start of the 2018-2019 season, Carter-Williams signed on to play alongside James Harden and the Houston Rockets. It is there Carter-Williams struggled to gain meaningful minutes only to be traded to and waived by the  Bulls.

Carter-Williams signed on with the Orlando Magic to help a team that was looking to make a playoff run.

Alongside the likes of point guards D.J. Augustin, Markelle Fultz and Jerian Grant, Carter-Williams provided something the Magic saw value in. It remains unclear if he’ll continue to be a part of the team’s future moving forward.

Carter-Williams is an unrestricted free agent this summer.
