2. Kris Dunn

There are several questions about Kris Dunn’s game as he enters the final year of his rookie-scale contract. Is he a point guard or shooting guard? Can he play alongside Zach LaVine? Can he help run an offense making sure to keep his assist-to-turnover ratio in check? Those are all valid questions.

Still, to be fair, Dunn did not get much playing time during his first year in the league. At the time, Dunn was a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves. It wasn’t until 2017 when Dunn was traded to the Bulls in a multi-player deal that he picked up more meaningful playing time.

Many believe the Bulls are planning to either draft a point guard and/or acquire one in free agency this summer to address what they feel is an area of need. What’s interesting is the Bulls have already exercised Dunn’s team option for 2019.

Time will only tell if Dunn is the point guard the Bulls want long term, I suppose. But, of course, time can be merely a social construct in some ways.

This past season, Dunn averaged 11.3 points, 6 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game.

Dunn is projected to be a restricted free agent in the summer of 2020.
