We’ve discussed the possibility of the Chicago Bulls shipping off this 2019 NBA Draft Lottery seventh overall pick to the Lakers just for a return of Lonzo Ball. But it does appear as if the Lakers might require more than just that pick and even Kris Dunn in the deal. This leaves the Bulls with the idea of expanding the framework with one or two more players.

A good candidate for the Bulls to explore trading could be the former Michigan State Spartans shooting guard and first round NBA Draft pick Denzel Valentine. With Valentine sitting out the entire of the 2018-19 regular season, the Bulls didn’t get much utility out of him despite his valuable skill set that could be coming off the bench.

It might be best for the Bulls to look elsewhere for answers at the wing deeper in the rotation that just hoping Valentine is helpful when he finally returns healthy to the lineup. This is where trading him out to get a big change of scenery comes into play. Valentine could be a good fit for the Lakers if he can continue hitting his looks from deep around a 37 percent clip.

In return for sending Dunn, Valentine, and the lottery pick to the Lakers, the Bulls would get Lonzo and potent shooting guard Josh Hart. Last season wasn’t the best for Hart, but he is a guard that could still be a career 36 or 37 percent three-point shooter that has a pretty versatile offensive arsenal.
