With the Chicago Bulls reportedly shopping their first round pick for a veteran leader, the question of who their target could be remains a mystery.

Against all odds, it appears the Chicago Bulls’ rebuild has gained enough steam to near its finale, despite their repeated misfortune in the draft lottery… or so the front office believes, according to multiple reports.

In the aftermath of the all-too-disappointing yet somehow completely expected results of the draft lottery, it appears Chicago’s front office is more willing to pursue a known veteran commodity instead of rolling the dice on whoever falls to seventh pick territory.

While sure to draw the ire of fans and Chicago media alike, the Bulls’ track record of success in the trades holds enough merit to at least entertain the idea. John Paxson and Gar Forman deserve their fair share of criticism; however, under an objective microscope, it’s hard to not appreciate the haul they received for Jimmy Butler, the scraps sent away in exchange for Otto Porter, and their ability to turn even role players like Justin Holiday into noteworthy draft capital.

With that being said, let’s cross our fingers and dive into some of the best-case scenarios for this hypothetical trade for a proven vet.
