Coby White falling to fifteen is huge for Detroit, as many consider the guard a top-ten prospect in this draft. With White, Detroit gets a player who can thrive at both guard positions, as a starter, or as a bench piece. Detroit is still far from being a serious threat out of the East, but White helps them get closer and younger.
Much like Chicago and Phoenix, Orlando is in desperate need of a point guard. With the acquisition of former top pick Markelle Fultz, the Magic can have both him and Nickeil Alexander-Walker compete for the starting job. The beauty here is Alexander Walker’s ability to be a combo guard, as he can play off the bench behind Evan Fournier if he fails to become the starting point guard.
Keldon Johnson is great value pick for the Nets at seventeen. As one of the top recruits out of high school in 2018, Johnson showed signs of elite abilities on the offensive end, yet was a bit inconsistent to be a sure-fire lottery pick. Johnson could be one of the steals of this draft if he can find some consistency.
