Patrick Beverley, L.A. Clippers – 7.6 points per game, 5.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists (2018-19)
Pat Beverley is a proven star on the defensive side of the ball. Undeniably tough and annoying to every fan base except the one he plays on, a defensive stopper like Beverley would instantly boost Chicago’s 25th-ranked defensive efficiency.
Beverley is from Chicago and if he was ever to come home and play for the Bulls, now would be the time. He made $5 million with the Clippers last season starting in 40 of the 78 games he played. L.A. was without the teams’ leading scorer, Tobias Harris and they still made the playoffs winning two games versus the defending champion Warriors.
With Landry Shamet coming over from the 76ers and showing promise, and Beverley now 30-years-old, Doc Rivers will be focused on landing a top dollar franchise player like Kawhi Leonard and rolling with the young Shamet and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander at point guard next season.
