5. Phoenix Suns

Lottery odds: 14.0%

The Phoenix Suns are tied with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the New York Knicks for the best odds to win the 2019 NBA Draft Lottery. The Suns, however, need the No.1 pick more than the other two bottom feeders.

It seems like the Knicks are ready to sign both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving this summer. That means they don’t deserve Zion. It’s as simple as that. The Cavs, on the other hand, are arguably the NBA team furthest away from success. That’s fine, though. They got spoiled by 11 seasons of LeBron and won the 2016 NBA Championship. They don’t need to jump right back into the limelight.

The last time Phoenix made the NBA Finals was in 1993 when the Chicago Bulls beat them in six games. Sorry, Suns fans. (I’m not actually sorry. Go Bulls!)

Not only has it been a while since the Suns made the NBA Finals, but they’ve only won a combined 87 games over the last four seasons. Yes, you read that correctly. That’s sad, gross, horrible and shocking.

The Suns’ rebuild is off to a decent start with guys like Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton, but they need more help. Zion would be a beautiful addition. I mean, can you imagine a Booker-Williamson pick-and-roll being thrown at you over and over again? Filthy.
