Chicago Bulls: 8 2019 NBA Draft Combine prospects worth following
It’s hard to know exactly where the Chicago Bulls have prioritized the former Texas Tech Red Raiders star wing Jarrett Culver on the 2019 NBA Draft board. The possibility definitely seems present that the Bulls look to draft Culver with the top pick in the 2019 NBA Draft if it falls outside the top three.
However, Culver does bring a valuable skill set to the Windy City for the Bulls if this is where he ultimately lands. Culver was the spark plug that guided AP Coach of the Year Chris Beard and Texas Tech to the NCAA Tournament National Championship Game before ultimately losing in heartbreaking overtime fashion.
Culver posted a fabulous player efficiency rating during his sophomore campaign, above 25.0. He also averaged 18.5 points per game, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.7 assists. The field goal percentage he posted at 46.1 percent was very solid, but the 30.4 shooting percentage from beyond the arc was less than stellar.
The three-point shooting ability of Culver has to improve if he is to become an effective piece for the Bulls. That’s not a factor that he could prove in the NBA Combine, but he could show off his physical tools and solidify himself more at the top of the Bulls draft board. It will be interesting to see his athleticism shown off like his length and leaping ability in a combine setting.
