C. Goga Bitadze. 21. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 149. Serbia. player

At 21st overall, the focus begins to shift away from direct team needs to who scouts believe is the best player available. Goga Bitadze may be somewhat of a mystery, but everything he’s shown in his time overseas indicate he will translate to the NBA smoothly.

With Nerlens Noel likely departing Oklahoma in free agency, Bitadze could see a lot of court time immediately. Bitadze has demonstrated a solid shooting ability and is very good rim protector, swatting 3.5 shots per 36 minutes.

Maryland. player. 18. Pick Analysis. C. Bruno fernando. 22. Scouting Report

Assuming the Celtics actually keep all four of their first round picks, they’ll likely look to diversify their selections to help prevent positional logjams. With Bitadze off the board, the Celtics will look to take the best center available.

They could certainly do worse than Bruno Fernando, who was a monstrous presence in the paint grabbing rebounds and blocking shots left and right. Fernando has shown the potential to be a starting caliber player in the league, which is exactly why Boston would be wise to invest in him now as a contingency plan for a world without Al Horford.
