player. 29. SG. USC. Kevin Porter Jr.. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 19

The Spurs are in a tricky situation here with clear holes in their game but no clear solutions. The best route here for San Antonio may be to just take the best player available in Kevin Porter Jr. and let Popovich work his magic.

The Spurs do have a crowded frontcourt, but Porter carries enough size to play minutes at the wing while letting Dejounte Murray, Derrick White, and Lonnie Walker handle ball-distribution duties. As a 41.2 percent shooter from deep in college, Porter could help usher in a new youthful era while veterans like Patty Mills and Marco Belinelli can take a back seat.

Pick Analysis. 20. 18. Tyler Herro. player. Scouting Report. SG. Kentucky

Much like the selection of PJ Washington earlier, the Celtics will be looking for players who can get the most out of their current crop of young players. Tyler Herro (another Kentucky alum) could help provide the spacing and versatile skill set in the same vein as Kevin Huerter the year prior.

Herro’s high basketball IQ and 58 true shooting percentage indicate he will help tilt games in the Celtics favor, even if in only limited playtime off the bench. If all goes well, perhaps Herro can become everything Boston fans hoped Terry Rozier would be.
