5. Patrick Beverley
Fresh off a series bothering the brains out of Kevin Durant and the Golden State Warriors, Beverley is a really interesting option.
This season with the Los Angeles Clippers, Beverley played a huge role in the development of his young teammates. Notably, rookie Shai Gilgeous-Alexander took a lot of lessons from Beverley in his first NBA campaign.
Beverley is entering his age 31 season, so age is somewhat of a concern. His value is in a role as a veteran leader.
The John Marshall Metropolitan High School graduate might look good in hometown red and black. Nicknamed “Mr. 94 Feet” for his non-stop, full-court effort, Beverley gives the Boylen-Bulls leadership and attitude.
Averaging 7.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.8 assists, Beverley isn’t too much of an offensive weapon. His value comes from his +1.2 defensive plus/minus represents his rough-and-tumble defense.
Last season, the Bulls often played swiss cheese defense; Beverley is a step towards fixing that issue. However, Beverley is most valuable as a second point guard, but playing big minutes off the bench.
