Former Chicago Bulls: 4 best Jimmy Butler landing spots
2. Philadelphia 76ers
Sometimes staying put for a player like Jimmy Butler is the best way to go. He’s having a decent year with the Sixers and still fighting to stay alive in the NBA Playoffs. Philly is currently facing the two-seed Raptors in the second round of the playoffs after knocking off the seven-seed Brooklyn Nets in the first.
Butler is averaging 18.3 points per game, 5.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.8 steals per game with the Sixers this season. His versatile skill set also shows in his field goal percentage this season, sitting above 46 percent. His three-point production is still lacking like it did during his time with the Chicago Bulls, though.
Philly has the cap room to bring Butler back next season, and this is a much better situation than he was in with the Timberwolves during the 2017-18 campaign. Although Minnesota is a place he definitely won’t consider going back to.
The Sixers could keep moving through the East with Butler in the mix. He was one of the leading scorers and most reliable two-way players. It makes a lot of sense for him t stick around despite the recent discussions that he could be leaving town.
