Kris Dunn = Karen Filippelli

Oh, Karen. Poor, poor Karen. The only thing Karen did wrong was not be Pam.

Jim and Karen had a nice relationship with a lot of potential. They probably would’ve been a happy couple for many years had Jim given them more time to grow. But unfortunately for Karen, Jim knew all along that he was meant to be with Pam. It didn’t matter that Karen was nice, funny and sweet. Pam was Pam, and that’s all that mattered. As quickly as Karen entered the hearts of those who watched The Office, she disappeared. Forever.

(Well, not forever. She actually makes a few more appearances, but you get my point).

Kris Dunn hasn’t been bad for the Bulls, but he just hasn’t been good enough to instill confidence in Bulls fans that he’s the right point guard for this team’s future. He might be the right point guard for a different team, but he’s definitely not right for the Bulls.

Maybe if guys like Ja Morant, Darius Garland and Coby White weren’t in the 2019 draft, then Dunn would get another shot at making things work with the Bulls. Maybe if Jim never met Pam, he would’ve been perfectly happy with Karen. That’s just not the case, though. Similar to how Jim had his heart set on Pam, Bulls fans have their hearts set on a new point guard.

The heart wants what the heart wants. Sorry, Kris (and Karen).
