Lauri Markkanen = Jim Halpert

This is where we bring in the beloved Jim Halpert.

Jim is sweet, adorable, lovable, funny, charming – he’s everything people want. Who doesn’t love Jim? He’s the guy that most fans of the show think they can relate to. All in all, he’s a guy you cheer for.

The exact same things can be said about Lauri Markkanen.

As soon as Markkanen showed everyone what he was capable of, the fans loved him. He has an endearing personality, he makes a positive impact on the game, he has a smile that lights up the room (court?) and he’s loaded with talent. Just like The Office is a better show when Jim is involved, the Bulls are a better team when Lauri is involved.

Can you imagine if John Krasinski left the show after Steve Carell did? Sure, Michael Scott was probably the “main” character, but without Jim, that show would’ve flopped. Now can you imagine the Bulls without Markkanen? I think I just threw up a little.

Jim doesn’t always do the right thing – and neither does Markkanen – but both guys consistently try to do the right thing, and that goes a long way. That’s all fans want from their guys.

Oh, and winning, I guess. Fans like that too.

The good news for Bulls fans? If Lauri and Jim actually are alike, then Lauri will be a winner soon. It took Jim a little while to find his way, but he’s most definitely a winner.
