4. Indiana Pacers
If Derrick Rose wants to stay in the Central Division at his next stop, then the Indiana Pacers are a good place to be. He could find himself in a win now situation with a team that could be a true contender in the East if the Pacers decide that pursuing Rose is the ideal option.
In contrast to the Chicago Bulls, the expectations for Rose with a team like the Pacers would be much smaller. He would be in a spot more similar to what he had with the Timberwolves. Despite some recent success in Indiana, that will never be the same pressure environment that comes with playing for the Bulls or Knicks.
The Pacers are likely to lose its current veteran point guard with Darren Collison to the free agent market this summer. Chicago could be a potential landing spot for Collison. But, the Pacers will be left with a void in the backcourt rotation that could partly be filled by a talented veteran like Rose.
Yet, the reason why the Pacers should proceed with caution in pursuing Rose is the current health issues with the backcourt. The Pacers were swept by the Boston Celtics in the first round of the playoffs this year largely due to the absence of Victor Oladipo. Earlier this season, Oladipo was sidelined with a ruptured quad.
