5. Chicago Bulls

We’ve now arrived at the point that most Chicago Bulls fans will be discussing throughout the off-season until the free agency period comes around. The idea of Derrick Rose landing back with the Bulls has many cons, but also a few pros. Bringing in Rose will also bring in a ton of headlines and off-the-court drama, no matter how he would handle the transition.

The decision for Chicago Bulls head coach Jim Boylen as to whether he feels Rose is worth the distraction for the locker room is a big part of the decision to sign him. Most fans are likely to decide against bringing in a distraction like Rose anytime soon. It’s very soon to bring him back after trading him to the Knicks in the first place.

If healthy, Rose will be a productive player in the Windy City and this fan base should know that. When he was healthy with the Timberwolves earlier in the regular season, Rose put up solid numbers off the bench. There’s a chance that could be replicated with him back in a Bulls uniform.

Boylen wouldn’t be in a position to give Rose too many minutes off the bench, or especially in a starting role, if he wants this to work. Rose needs to manage his minutes and the expectations can’t be too high either. The main point here is that a Rose reunion could create a powder keg situation in the locker room.
