Chicago Bulls: Grading every personnel move of 2018-2019
Signed Undrafted FA Rawle Alkins to Two-Way Contract
Rawle Alkins was a former teammate of Lauri Markkanen at the University of Arizona. Unlike in 2017-2018, the Bulls did not utilize their two-way players often, as Alkins only saw 10 NBA games in 2018-2019. In the G League, the 21-year-old guard averaged 11.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.8 blocks on 44.5% from the field. These numbers, although not bad, are far from stunning. Alkins is not likely to return to Chicago in 2019-2020, even on a G League contract.

Claimed Tyler Ulis off Waivers (Golden State), Signed to Two-Way Contract
Tyler Ulis, a Chicago product, was waived by the Phoenix Suns in 2018, the team that took him in the second round of the 2016 draft. He was then claimed by the Golden State Warriors but was waived less than a month later. After hitting waivers again, he was claimed by Chicago and signed to a two-way deal. This was a phenomenal signing for Chicago, as Ulis was a very highly-rated high school and college prospect who despite his size, fits the mold of a modern NBA player.

Signed Undrafted FA Brandon Sampson to Two-Way Contract
Contrary to Tyler Ulis, Brandon Sampson is a much more low-profile two-way player. Sampson forewent his senior season at LSU to declare for the 2018 NBA draft, however, his name was not called. He was then signed to a two-way contract by Chicago after spending some time in the G League. In his time in the NBA, the 21-year-old played quite well, posting an average of 5.1 points per game on 46.7% from the field and 37.9% from 3-point range in 14 NBA games. Sampson will likely not be on the NBA roster next season, although another two-way deal could happen for him. All in all, Sampson was not a bad pickup by the team.
