11. Lakers- Romeo Langford, G, Indiana
Stock Trend from Pre-Tournament Mock: +1
The Laker’s young core has a solution just about everywhere but at center and shooting guard. With no centers worthy of this high of a selection, L.A. takes Romeo Langford from Indiana. The chances of a superstar coming to the Lakers this summer via free agency is not likely considering the drama that has occurred there, so this pick could very well be used as part of a package for a current player (Bradley Beal?).
However, for now, the team fills a positional need at the two spot with a player who has very nice scoring potential.
12. Heat- Coby White, G, North Carolina
Stock Trend from Pre-Tournament Mock: +7
Coby White has been the best player on one of the best teams in college basketball all season. It is unclear which guard spot he will play in the NBA, but for Miami it doesn’t really matter.
If he plays the point guard spot, he can serve as a backup to Goran Dragic and allow Justise Winslow to play small forward. If they decide to play him at the two spot, he can be groomed behind Dion Waiters to become an eventual heir to Dwyane Wade. White makes too much sense for Miami at twelve.
