7. Hawks (via DAL.)- Jaxson Hayes, C, Texas
Stock Trend from Pre-Tournament Mock: +/- 0
Jaxson Hayes should consider himself lucky that he is in such a weak big man class. He is certainly not worth this high of a selection, but here Atlanta fills a need at center. It is very possible that the team brings back Dewayne Dedmon on a cheaper deal next season, but even if, he is not the long-term solution at the five spot. Hayes can develop into a nice defensive center in the league as a part of the talented Hawks core.
8. Pelicans- Jarrett Culver, G, Texas Tech
Stock Trend from Pre-Tournament Mock: +/- 0
Culver falling to eight is close to ideal for New Orleans. Amidst the Anthony Davis mess, the team will look to take the best player available, and it can be argued that Culver is a top-five player in this class.
After taking his team all the way to the NCAA Championship game, it is very possible that Culver goes higher than this. The Pelicans get great value with their first-round selection in a shooting guard with star potential.
