35. Hawks- Ayo Dosunmu, G, Illinois

Stock Trend from Pre-Tournament Mock: -2

Behind Trae Young, Atlanta is extremely shallow at the point guard position. The team could look to take Ponds from St. John’s, however, that would leave the team with two small guards. Dosunmu has very good size from the point guard spot and shows two-way promise, which compliments the skillset of the smaller, offensive-minded Trae Young.

36. Hornets (via WAS.)- Shamorie Ponds, G, St. John’s

Stock Trend from Pre-Tournament Mock: n/a

To the casual college basketball fan, you may have no idea who Shamorie Ponds is. In his third season at the small school of St. John’s, he posted impressive numbers of 19.7 points per game, 4.1 rebounds, and 5.1 assists on 45.4 percent from the field and 35.3 percent from deep to go along with 2.6 steals per game. With the very real possibility that Kemba Walker leaves in the offseason, taking a point guard may not be the worst idea.
